Four companies, all Greek marina-related businesses, have expressed interest to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), or TAIPED, in developing a new superyacht marina in Corfu, according to a report in the Ekathimerini news outlet. The new facility will offer 98 berths for superyachts from 30m-140m (99ft-460ft).
The bidding will follow HRADF’s standard two-phase tender process comprising a pre-qualification phase and a binding offers phase. Under the first phase all four bidders will be allowed to move to phase two and present their binding bids. The winning bidder will secure a concession for 40 years.
A more compact IPS triple propulsion system and a hull designed by Azimut’s technical team, in partnership with Volvo engineers, translates into improved fuel efficiency. The use of carbon fibre in the yacht’s superstructure reduces its overall weight and opens the way to a revolutionary increase in volume without affecting stability, Azimut says. The result is a reduction of up to 30% in fuel consumption at medium and high speeds and sufficient surface area, for the first time on a 70-footer, to offer an incredibly generous layout, featuring a large lower deck with five spacious cabins and a garage for two water toys. The main deck is designed around outdoor and indoor lounge areas and a spacious galley.
