Cala del Forte marina officially inaugurated
New Italian facility offers berths of up to 70m
The new Ventimiglia, Italy-based Cala del Forte marina, operated by Ports of Monaco, was officially inaugurated last Friday. The marina has been developed to provide additional berths to serve the growing need for capacity in addition to Monaco’s two main berthing areas.
The official inauguration ceremony included a number of opening institutional speeches followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the blessing by the Italian and Monegasque religious bodies and the performance of both national anthems. The event was organized in full compliance with all anti-pandemic health and safety guidelines, which included a strictly limited guest list.
Cala del Forte marina, located just 7.9Nm from Monaco, provides 178 berths up to 70m and a small shipyard facility. The marina has the longest concession in the Mediterranean, up to 2094. The facility serves as a destination in that, apart from the berths, it has a 15,000m² promenade with gardens and some 39 shops. A fast catamaran shuttle service is run to and from Monaco
