Flisvos Marina Wins ‘Smart & Sustainable Marina’ Award

Flisvos Marina of the Lamda Development Group won the “Smart & Sustainable Marina” award at the international competition held at Yacht Club Monaco on 25-26 September and organized by the Monaco Marina Management, aiming to showcase the smart and sustainable practices of startups, marinas, and architects.

The Smart & Sustainable Marina award goes to environmentally responsible marinas that offer optimal customer experience and unique architecture, and it is based on a strong vision that Smart Marinas are like micro-cities that can lead the way towards urban development that is more respectful of the environment, being aligned and in harmony with the Ocean so close by.

The goal is for marinas to become leisure venues that are at the top of people’s preferences, with a large number of sustainable businesses offering a high-level experience to all visitors.

Flisvos Marina serves this vision and underlines, among other things, that sustainable development and innovation are priorities in its strategy and an integral part of its values and activities. Some examples of this strategy are the management of 16 recycling streams, electricity from 100% renewable sources, water quality at swimming level, environmental awareness campaigns and events, the use of environmentally friendly building materials such as cobblestone, as well as innovative solutions such as an outdoor composting unit, two units for removing micro-plastics from the sea, and more.

Commenting on this new distinction, Stavros Katsikadis, Managing Director of LAMDA Flisvos Marina S.A., made the following statement: “In its 20 years of activity, Flisvos Marina has succeeded in creating a world-class luxury destination for large yachts, creating new jobs and making a significant contribution to the local economy. The “Smart and Sustainable Marina” award at Monaco’s international competition confirms the continuous efforts we make to improve and adapt management practices to the needs of the times. Commitment to ESG values is not just a key policy for Flisvos Marina. It is an integral part of its culture and the DNA of its people.”
