Beaches in Lefkada

Porto Katsiki: This remarkable beach should be at the top of your list. Its captivating scenery, featuring white cliffs juxtaposed against the blue waters of the Ionian Sea, creates an enchanting landscape. Lush vegetation adds to its allure.

Egremni: Known for its exotic landscape, Egremni boasts white sand, pebbles, and crystal-clear waters that attract numerous visitors each year. If you seek seclusion, you can find it under the cliffs. Note that access to the beach is currently only possible by boat due to an earthquake.

Nidri Beach: As a popular resort, Nidri Beach offers a lovely environment with its white sands, crystalline waters, and palm trees. The resort is well-developed, featuring bars, cafes, and a variety of restaurants.

Kathisma: Located 15 km (9 miles) southeast of the main town, Kathisma is one of Lefkada’s most beautiful beaches. Its fine white sand and sparkling turquoise waters provide an ideal setting for a relaxing swim and sunbathing. The beach also offers opportunities for water sports, including sky parachuting. Numerous umbrellas, sunbeds, and nearby accommodations are available.

Lefkada is home to two lagoons, Divari and Ivaria, where various migratory birds find refuge during the winter and spring seasons. The lush vegetation surrounding the lagoons offers shelter and safety for these birds.

The 14th-century Agia Mavra castle, extensively renovated and remarkably well-preserved, was originally built by Sicilian rulers to protect the old town. The castle hosts a beautiful church dedicated to Agia Mavra and serves as a venue for numerous cultural events during the summer.
