Maltese businessman Paul Gauci has secured the concession to operate Marina di Ragusa in Sicily. The latest development comes as the entrepreneur continues to work on establishing a catamaran link between Malta and Italy’s largest island.
Mayor of Ragusa Peppe Cassì told local business website QdS.it that Gauci has gained control over the company that operates the facility by buying its debts. “But it is not a matter of ownership, it is always a matter of management under a concession,” said the Mayor.
Gauci is the founder and majority shareholder of Malta’s PG Group, a holding that is involved in various retail operations. Among others, it runs the country’s PAMA shopping mall.
