Location potential
Pakoštane, a charming coastal town on the Adriatic, is poised to become a thriving hub for nautical tourism. Nestled along the coastline, this picturesque town boasts an ideal location for the construction of a nautical tourism port. Surrounded by the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea and characterized by a stunning natural landscape, Pakoštane offers a captivating backdrop for maritime adventures.
The spatial plan of the municipality outlines the development of a Nautical Tourism Port, with the spatial and functional layout of this port set to be determined by the UUPU (Urban Development Plan for the Port). This forward-thinking approach ensures that the port’s construction aligns with the highest standards and takes into account the diverse needs of visitors and the maritime industry.
Pakoštane’s appeal as a nautical tourism destination extends beyond its strategic location. The town exudes coastal charm and offers a wealth of cultural experiences, making it a well-rounded destination for travelers. Visitors can explore Pakoštane’s rich heritage, relax on its pristine beaches, and embark on a range of maritime activities.
The nearby Vrgada port, with its proximity to Pakoštane, represents another opportunity for nautical tourism development. As the spatial development plan for Pakoštane envisions the construction of a nautical tourism harbor on Vrgada Island, this offers a potential extension of Pakoštane’s maritime appeal. With the combined potential of these locations, Pakoštane is poised to become a magnet for maritime enthusiasts and travelers seeking authentic coastal experiences.
Project description
The development of nautical tourism ports in Pakoštane and on Vrgada Island is guided by comprehensive spatial plans that outline the necessary steps for construction and regulation. These plans provide a roadmap for establishing secure mooring facilities, defining the layout and infrastructure of the ports, and ensuring sustainable management.
The Urban Development Plan for the Port (UUPU) will play a crucial role in shaping the final design and functionality of the Nautical Tourism Port. It will consider factors such as the number of moorings, infrastructure provisions, and equipment requirements. This thoughtful planning approach is aimed at creating modern and efficient facilities that meet the needs of maritime visitors.
In parallel, the implementation of the Urban Development Plans (UPUs) is a crucial step in obtaining location permits. These plans relate to the administration overseeing port construction, and their approval is essential for the project’s progress. This meticulous approach ensures that all regulatory and administrative processes are followed diligently, contributing to the successful development of the Nautical Tourism Port.
With less than 200 moorings planned, these nautical tourism ports are designed to offer an intimate and exclusive experience for visitors. This approach aligns with the vision of creating well-appointed ports that harmonize with the natural beauty of the Pakoštane region while providing exceptional services and amenities for maritime enthusiasts.
In summary, Pakoštane’s commitment to nautical tourism development is underpinned by careful planning and a strong focus on sustainability. These ports have the potential to elevate Pakoštane’s status as a premier coastal destination, offering a rich blend of maritime adventures, cultural experiences, and natural beauty to all who visit.
Project realization model
The construction and commercial use of the Vrgada nautical tourism port, i.e. the maritime property, is granted in concession for a period of 30 years, counting from the day of the conclusion of the concession contract. The concessionaire will be selected based on a public tender announced by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. Preparatory activities are being carried out for the purpose of calling for a public call for tenders for the award of a concession on maritime property.
