WHY CHOOSE
AB Yachts
AB Yachts was founded in 1992 in Viareggio, Italy, operating as the premier high-performance division of the Next Yacht Group. The shipyard specializes in semi-custom composite sports superyachts ranging from 80 to 140 feet, including the AB 80, AB 100, and flagship AB 130. Drawing on aerospace engineering principles, AB Yachts constructs hulls using lightweight carbon fiber, Kevlar, and advanced epoxy resin infusion. This technology allows their vessels to reach blistering speeds exceeding 50 to 53 knots while maintaining structural rigidity and guest comfort.
Why We Recommend This Builder
We recommend AB Yachts for charter guests who want to maximize their time ashore and minimize open-water transit between iconic Mediterranean destinations. Their triple MJP waterjet systems eliminate underwater propeller drag, resulting in near-zero vibration, shallow-water capability, and agile maneuverability in crowded ports. The interior layouts showcase contemporary Italian craftsmanship with full-height panoramic windows, bright open salons, and wide aft beach clubs designed for seamless water sports access.
Perfect For & Charter Overview
AB Yachts is perfect for fast-paced island-hopping itineraries across the Côte d’Azur, Ibiza, and the Miami sandbars. Guests can cruise from Monaco to Saint-Tropez in less than an hour while enjoying five-star service on deck. Consider this builder if your priority is speed, open-air sunbathing, and modern Italian sport yacht styling, while traditional displacement yachts remain preferable for long ocean passages.
