Originally dating back to 1930, Gallicantu was an abandoned stazzo for over half a century. In 2017, Marco Berio fell in love with this enchanting corner of Sardinia and recognized its incredible potential. Acquiring the property, Marco embarked on a journey to transform Gallicantu into the haven it is today while simultaneously managing the renowned Pevero Golf Club in Costa Smeralda, where he had already achieved success for 12 years.
By the end of 2019, Marco decided to fully dedicate himself to the Gallicantu project, overseeing its construction, researching the finest materials, and meticulously designing every detail of the retreat, exactly as he had envisioned it. Assisting him in this extraordinary adventure is his partner, Raffaella Manca, who possesses almost two decades of experience in communication and marketing in the hotel sector. Raffaella’s invaluable expertise as a PR Manager for esteemed chains such as Sina and Starwood Hotels, as well as her ten years working for the renowned hotels in Costa Smeralda—Cala di Volpe, Cervo, Pitrizza, and Romazzino—has greatly contributed to Gallicantu’s success.
