Charter Yacht | AMAYA – Sunreef 60

“Welcome aboard,” Amy, the chef, calls from a distance as I enter the yacht. What a welcome on this chic catamaran, I immediately notice the exceptionally beautiful table decorations with coconuts and pineapples, both of which will certainly end up in the desserts and drinks later. Together with her partner and captain Biff and deckhand Piers, she makes sure that everyone on board feels completely at ease. They have been sailing the Virgin Islands for over 5 years and know the area inside out.

At the BVI Charter Show 2023, AMAYA took first place in the “Best Yacht” category and first place in the “Table Design” category. Amy is not only an excellent cook, she also has a special talent for creating a special holiday atmosphere on board.

The Sunreef 60 sailing catamaran AMAYA, which left the shipyard in 2019, is still in perfect condition. Blue and turquoise details add a modern seaside look to the yacht’s timeless natural colour scheme and harmonise perfectly with the wood tones. As you would expect from Sunreef, the bathrooms have a simple marble design.
Each of the four guest cabins has a queen-size bed and en-suite shower facilities. The owner’s cabin is slightly larger than the guest cabins. However, all cabins are very comfortable considering the size of the ship.

On the AMAYA Sunreef 60, the flybridge is the perfect place to relax. Numerous large sunbathing areas and a seating area invite you to linger and daydream while the captain steers the yacht from island to island. There are further large sunbathing areas on the foredeck, and this yacht also has nets at the front where a fresh breeze blows in from the sea.

On the aft deck, you will find the dining table with a large sunbathing area that provides the perfect shady spot. There is also a sofa with an adjustable back to watch everyone in the water.

On this model, the galley is part of the saloon and the centre of the action on board. Not least thanks to Amy, who not only impresses as a chef, but also wins everyone over with her warm personality. Amy loves to cook with local produce and buys her food from a local farm on Tortola. She collects her organic waste and takes it back to the farm, reducing waste and turning organic waste into compost.

The yacht does even more to help the environment: Glass, plastic and aluminium are recycled. The beach bags on board are made from recycled sails and canvas. Ocean- and reef-friendly sunscreens are available on board, and toiletries and cosmetics are sourced from Puracy. Eco-friendly products are used wherever possible to clean the yacht.

The Sunreef 60 AMAYA has Starlink internet and a full range of watersports equipment including an eFoil.

The Sunreef sailing catamaran AMAYA is based all year round in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. You can board in Tortola, but the crew are happy to pick you up from any other island in the BVI. Perhaps you would like to spend a few days relaxing at Scrub Island Resort, which has beautiful villas and guest rooms, pools, restaurants, romantic beaches and a modern marina.
The best time to visit this area is from November to June, although it can be very warm from May onwards.
